A Well-Defined Jawline: The Key to a Harmonious Face
What could be more elegant than a well-defined jawline, framed by a sharp oval face? With age or genetics, this oval can lose its firmness, and jowls may begin to appear. Fortunately, there are now several effective aesthetic treatments available to redefine the oval of the face, without the need for surgery.
Why Does the Jawline Sag?
From the age of 30, our natural production of collagen and hyaluronic acid decreases. As a result, the skin becomes dehydrated, loses elasticity, and the facial contours become blurred.
Among my patients aged 40 and over, the sagging jawline is one of the main concerns.
My advice: don't wait for the sagging to set in! In aesthetic medicine, prevention is far more effective than correction.

What Treatments Are Available to Redefine the Jawline?
1. Skinbooster Injections: Hydrate and Prevent:
Skinboosters are very fluid hyaluronic acids that do not add volume but deeply rehydrate the skin.
There are various types of hyaluronic acid; here we will discuss the Restylane skinbooster from Galderma® and the NCTF 135 from Fillmed®.
From the age of 30, our natural production of collagen and hyaluronic acid decreases. This is when we must take over with skinbooster injections.
Start as early as possible to prevent your skin from suffering the consequences of this decline.
The skinbooster does not add volume but deeply hydrates your skin.
The Restylane skinbooster from Galderma is injected deeply beneath the skin and will have a long-lasting effect. The NCTF 135 skinbooster from Fillmed, previously known as Mesolift, is a more superficial injection to hydrate the upper layers of the skin.
There is also an emerging product called Profhilo, which adapts perfectly as a skinbooster for the neck and décolleté.
2. Device Treatments: To Firm the Skin Without Injections, Two Technologies Stand Out:
Morpheus 8: This is a combination of micro needling (tiny needles) and radiofrequency. It stimulates collagen production deeply and tightens the skin. Very suitable for thin skin. In each session, the doctor will deliver energy responsible for skin rejuvenation.
HIFU: Focused ultrasounds are applied to areas that need tightening or preventing sagging. Ideal for thicker skin, it acts as a "glue" in the deeper layers of the skin. Perfect for naturally tightening tissues. The HIFU will act as glue in the deep layers of the skin.
These two technologies are complementary: if possible, a combined treatment provides the best results.
During the assessment, we will choose the technique best suited to your skin.

3. Hyaluronic Acid Fillers: “Jawline” Effect
To restructure a sagging jawline and camouflage jowls, I use a denser hyaluronic acid to restore lost volume.
This treatment, known as Jawline Contouring, allows for a sharp and natural mandibular line to be recreated.
Beware: if you already have a square face or a wide jaw, this treatment is not recommended.
4. Tissue Stimulators
Tissue stimulators act like the reconstruction of the facial matrix. Two products are particularly effective (Sculptra and Radiesse). These tissue stimulators can restore structure to the face and improve the skin's elasticity.
Is this treatment costly?
To treat the entire jawline, you will need to allocate at least 3 vials of hyaluronic acid. It's as if we were adding skin along the entire length of the jaw. This is why this treatment requires a considerable amount of product.
I've already got a square face, is this reasonable?
Indeed, the jawline adds thickness to your jaw, so it is not advisable to undergo this treatment.
I have lower cheeks, is this the right indication?
By reshaping the oval of the face, we can disguise the lower cheeks. The result is very lovely and natural.
I don't want injections in my face, what are the alternatives?
Today, there are many machines available to work on the oval of the face.
I have selected the two best ones, which are Morpheus and HIFU.
Can you guarantee the result?
These are two effective techniques, but be aware that these methods help stimulate skin retraction.
Unfortunately, sometimes the skin struggles to tighten again.
However, these two machines will work 100% on preventing sagging and will slow down the loss of elasticity in your oval.
What is the difference between HIFU and MORPHEUS?
The HIFU will be more effective on thicker skin, while Morpheus is better for thinner skin. However, I would say that these two techniques are complementary, and if you have the opportunity, consider a course with both technologies.
Is there maintenance after my initial treatment?
Indeed, apart from surgery, there is no technique with a permanent effect. Maintenance every 6 months is highly recommended.
I have a double chin, what can I do?
During the assessment, we will let you know if it is worth trying or not. If the skin is too loose or the fat mass too significant, we will recommend some names of cosmetic surgeons.
What do you think of thread lifts?
I would say it is not a bad technique, but I've received feedback from my patients and have seen more disappointments than satisfied patients. The treatment is very expensive, can be painful, the skin is sometimes rippled, and the tension isn't always effective. For all these reasons, I have not opted for threads.
THE ADVICE?
Don’t wait for sagging to become too significant before starting to work on your oval. It is preferable to have regular minor treatments than to venture into expectations that we cannot meet.
