METHODS USED:

Hyaluronic acid acts as a filler. I use 3 references depending on the indications. (1 for hydration, 1 for volume, and 1 for fine lines around the mouth). The brands I have selected are Defyne, Volyme, Refyne by Galderma and Balance by Merz for the blanching technique. 

Lasers and radiofrequency will be very useful for smoothing the skin and erasing imperfections. These techniques induce an exfoliation of the skin, making the surface smoother. 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT MOUTH INJECTIONS:

1. What will the result be? Will my lips look natural?

My goal is always to achieve a harmonious and natural result. I adapt to your morphology, the shape of your lips, and your expectations. The hyaluronic acid I use allows for a gradual shaping of the lips, respecting the balance of the face. 

2. How many ampoules of hyaluronic acid do you recommend initially ?

I recommend starting slowly with the mouth, as it is important to maintain natural proportions in relation to the rest of the face. If your mouth is naturally full; in this case, there may not be enough space for hyaluronic acid.
I advise against exceeding 2 ampoules in total. 

3. Can we reshape the lips?

Yes, the injection not only increases volume but also reshapes the contours, improves symmetry, or highlights the cupid's bow. During the consultation, we define the desired outcome together. 

4. My lips are so thin, should I expect miracles ?

For a mouth that is extremely thin from the outset, it is highly likely that I may not be able to treat it.

Why? As we age, we lose fat and bone mass. Consequently, the direction of the mouth changes and points downwards. If I perform injections in this scenario, it would result in a duck-like appearance, which is exactly what we want to avoid.

5. The product disappeared very quickly, is this normal ?

Very few patients absorb hyaluronic acid at a rapid rate. However, it does happen. 

Another reason might be that you have become accustomed to the volume of hyaluronic acid and the accompanying swelling. And when the swelling subsides, it seems as though everything is gone.

If the result does not meet your expectations, we will proceed with the injection of a second ampoule.

6. I feel some hardness in my lips.

The lips are areas rich in blood vessels, so it’s not uncommon to experience hardness that in the vast majority of cases corresponds to bruising.

With a little patience, everything will return to normal quickly.

7. What if I don’t like the result ?

The desired shape is not necessarily the volume we will have just after the injections. The motions of the mouth will naturally disperse the product, and we can consider the result definitive approximately 3 weeks after the injections.

8. We hear about Russian Lips

This is indeed a trend that involves enhancing the lips to make them maximally sexy. It looks attractive, but it doesn’t suit everyone and cannot be done on all lip types.

9. Can asymmetries of the lips be corrected?

Yes, of course, it’s a matter of dosage. We can add a bit more on one side to balance your lips. It is also possible to correct congenital malformations.

10. Is it dangerous? Are there risks?

Like any medical procedure, there are risks, but they are very low when the injection is performed by a trained professional. The products I use are safe, absorbable, and approved by health authorities. The most common side effects are transient: swelling, redness, or minor bruising. Serious complications are extremely rare and manageable.

11. I have herpes, should I take anti-herpetic prevention?

If you often experience herpes outbreaks, it is advisable to start an anti-herpetic cover before the injections.

12. How can I erase my barcode lines?

If the skin of the lip is very thin, it will be possible to make fine injections of hyaluronic acid using the blanching method.

However, if the skin is too thick, injecting hyaluronic acid may cause your lip to bulge, which isn’t aesthetically pleasing. In that case, we use an ablative laser to smooth the skin. This works very well. Expect about a week of redness and definitely do it in winter.

On the other hand, if you have barcode lines due to smoking, I strongly recommend considering quitting smoking.

13. My lips are so thin that they seem erased, can you make them look like this?

      Let’s forget about that!

14. I have small lumps on my lips, will they go away?

The skin of the lips is extremely thin, so it’s possible to feel small lumps of hyaluronic acid or haematomas. Wait 2 to 3 weeks after the injections, as the product will naturally settle while talking. You also have the option to massage them.

15. What if I don’t like the result?

One of the advantages of hyaluronic acid is that it is reversible. If the result does not meet your expectations, it is possible to inject an enzyme called hyaluronidase to dissolve the product. That said, good communication beforehand usually helps avoid this situation.

16. Can I return to normal life after the injection?

Yes, absolutely. You may experience slight swelling or minor bruising, but these are subtle and temporary. I recommend avoiding intense sports, exposure to heat (sauna, steam room), and alcohol for 24 to 48 hours.

17. How long does the result last?

On average, the effect lasts between 6 and 12 months. This depends on each patient’s metabolism, the type of hyaluronic acid used, and lifestyle factors. An annual touch-up is often sufficient to maintain a harmonious result.

18. I am a man, can I improve the appearance of my lips?
